This is actually something I made way back, maybe 7 years ago, for my in-laws. They used to do the Jingle Bell Run every year and they'd get a t-shirt.

After the doll hat, I didn't immediately return to the green hat.
I made a scarf.
The yarn looked prettier in a ball than knitted up, somehow. But it was a good confidence-builder. I also learned the reason why most knitters stear away from acrylic and stick to natural fibers, the curling is terrible. I hope my friend (who lives where there is snow) likes it anyway.
One of the blogs I enjoy is Patchwork Pottery. There are more images in her Flickr account. I particularly liked these potholders. So I made one for my mom for Christmas by making some modifications to the pattern in this book!

I really like the way it turned out. Though, it apparently needs ironing...
